USJohnLennonNRPhotoWinona State University will host a film screening of the documentary “The U.S. vs. John Lennon” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Stark Hall Auditorium.

This documentary follows John Lennon’s career post-Beatles and how his art and work influenced political discussions, specifically regarding the Vietnam War. Lennon uses his star-power to reach masses of people in the United States and beyond to engage others in the politics of the 1960s and 70s.

This event is sponsored by WSU’s Art & Design Department, English Department, Mass Communication Department, Sociology Department, Darrell W. Krueger Library and Sounds of Cinema, a program on WSU’s KQAL 89.5.

The screening is free and opening to the public.
