Winona State University’s Outdoor Education and Recreation Center (OERC) begins its open paddle and climb nights Aug. 27.
Opening climbing will occur at 4 p.m. on Tuesdays at Sugarloaf, and open paddling will occur at 4 p.m. on Thursdays at Prairie Island Boat Landing.
Events are weather permitting.
Open paddling typically runs until the end of October, depending on air and water temperature, and open climbing will end on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
The OERC is dedicated to promoting lifetime outdoor skills and safety, while ensuring proper techniques and concern and appreciation for nature.
