8908423604_0ac56dd642_zMore than 1100 students will participate in the Winona State University Spring 2015 Commencement ceremonies Friday, May 8, in McCown Gymnasium in Memorial Hall on the Winona campus.

The morning ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. and include the College of Business and the College of Liberal Arts. The afternoon ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and include the College of Education, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the College of Science and Engineering.

Doors open one hour prior to each ceremony.

A reception will be held following each ceremony at the pavilion near the Alumni Gazebo in the center in the campus (rain location: Talbot Gymnasium, Memorial Hall)

The comments of a graduating student are featured as part of each Winona State Commencement ceremony. This morning ceremony’s student speaker is Kait O’Neill from New Prague, Minn. O’Neill will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in individualized studies. The afternoon ceremony’s student speaker will be Mary Kay Haupt from Holmen, Wis. Haupt will graduate with a master’s degree in Community Counseling.

WSU students Chelsea Rysavy from Kasson, Minn., and Gabriella Medina from Forest Lake, Minn., will introduce the degree candidates. Both are communication studies majors.
