lyz-jaakola-anishinaabe-musicianThe Winona State University Department of Music will host the last concert of the International Music Series featuring Lyz Jaakola: Anishinaabe Musician at 6 p.m.  Wednesday, Nov. 17, in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.

Elizabeth “Lyz” Jaakola is a musician and teacher at Fond de Lac Tribal and Community College. She has performed and composed a variety of styles of music, including traditional Anishinaabe music, blues, jazz and opera. She strives to promote the traditional Native American music of her tribe, the Anishinaabe.

The International Music Series is supported by the WSU Student Life fee and Department of Music.

The event is free and open to the public.
