The Winona State University CLASP Series presents “Creating Balance: Life Support Through Mindfulness” from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in Memorial Hall, room 300.

Gretchen Cohenour, professor of theatre and dance, will present an introduction to meditation and mindful movement practice. Cohenour has a bachelor’s degree, Master of Fine Arts in Choreography and Performance, and BMC Certifications in Embodied Anatomy and Embodied Developmental Movement and Yoga.

The Consortium for Liberal Arts and Science Promotion (CLASP) series promotes interdisciplinary discussion and exchange with presentations aimed at a general audience of students, faculty and the community. The CLASP series was created to bring the WSU community and the greater Winona community together around a common theme. The 2012-13 University Theme, Well Connected: Piecing Together a Well You, will engage  the campus and Winona community in collaborative wellness centered activities to achieve and sustain whole-person wellness as a foundation for a balanced and successful life.

This event is free and open to the public.
