In partnership with Winona State University, the Winona County Historical Society will host the 2016 History on the River Cruises Thursdays throughout the summer aboard WSU’s Cal Fremling Interpretive Center and Floating Classroom.
The 90-minute tours range from music on the river with the Great River Shakespeare Festival Company and visiting artists to various courses on river history with local experts to family friendly cruises with crafts and games.
Beverages and a light snack will be included on every tour.
New to the cruises this year are the Family History on the River Cruises occurring June 18, July 16 and Aug. 20. These cruises feature family-friendly tours of the Mississippi River and include crafts, I Spy and collecting bugs.
Tickets are available for the public to purchase at the history center or via phone at 507-454-2723 ext. 0. Tickets are $20 for society members and $25 for non-members. Package deals are available. Family cruises are $15 for children members, $20 for non-member children, $10 for adult members and $15 for non-member adults.
