Winona State University invites the community to join in for free Outdoor Adventure Open Houses, held from 4 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday from September 8 to October 27, at the Outdoor Education and Recreation Center (OERC).

Attendees have access to various outdoor activities, including a climbing wall, high ropes course, and mountain bike skills course. All activities are designed to promote an active, healthy lifestyle and encourage community engagement.

Winona State began hosting Outdoor Adventure Open Houses three years ago, with a goal of engaging students and the greater community in opportunities that inspire an active and healthy lifestyle.

Event Details for Participants:

Climbing Wall: All participants must sign a participant agreement waiver upon arrival.

High Ropes Course: Open to individuals aged 10 and up. An Assumption of Risk form is required to participate. Participants will complete a “ground school” session to ensure safe use of the course.

Mountain Bike Skills Course: Participants are welcome to bring their own bike or use one provided (limited sizes available). The course will feature ramps, rollers, and other elements to help build and develop biking skills.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic and connect with families, students, and community members.
