DeniseWinona State University’s Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Life, Denise Lloyd McDowell, was honored at Rochester Community and Technical College’s second annual diversity celebration honoring executives of African Heritage in Southeast Minnesota on Oct. 1.

This year, the celebration honored eight executives from the area, including RCTC President Leslie McClellon, who delivered the keynote address.

Other honorees included: President Adenuga Atewologun of Riverland Technical College; President Annette Parker of South Central Community College; Stephen West, superintendent of Winona Area Public Schools; Sydney Jackson, director of core services at Rochester Public Utilities; Kedrick Adkins Jr., CFO at Mayo Clinic in Rochester; and Pamela Evans, assistant vice president of member services at First Alliance Credit Union.

McDowell began her appointment at WSU in July 2015. As vice president, McDowell leads enrollment management for the university, addressing recruitment and retention, as well as access and opportunity for underserved populations. She also directs student life services, including housing, student conduct and student wellness.
