The Winona State University RE Initiative will host the fourth annual Winona Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Windom Park (on Broadway and Huff).
Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an international men’s march to end rape, sexual and domestic assault. The walk is an opportunity to rally the community to prevent violence, raise money and awareness on this issue. All proceeds will benefit local victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence served by the Winona Women’s Resource Center (WRC).
RE Initiative is the on-campus gender-based violence program that provides bystander intervention education and confidential advocacy services to those who have experienced sexual assault, intimate partner violence and/or stalking.
Teams with the most members, the most donations raised and the most spirited walker will all be rewarded at the end of the race, followed by prizes and refreshments.
Teams can register by mail or drop off registration forms at the WRC, 77 East Fifth Street. Pledge drop off is at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 10.
Registration forms are available online.
