Winona State University will host the grand opening of its indoor climbing facility from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 30, at the Wabasha Recreation Center, 351 Lafayette Street.
Students, employees and community members of all ages are invited to join WSU President Scott R. Olson and experience the new facility. Enter a drawing for prizes, including a climbing center membership and punch cards.
The facility is operated by a highly trained student staff and features three climbing sections: a 30-foot modular-style climbing wall with 32 top ropes, and two 14-foot bouldering walls with top outs and crash pads.
The facility hosts open climbing five days a week. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For information on climbing rates visit the Outdoor Education and Recreation Center website at: http://www.winona.edu/outdoor.
