Winona State University will host “New Landscapes: Sampling Time in Nature,” a faculty art exhibit by Don Schmidlapp, Jan. 20 through Feb. 3 in the Paul Watkins Art Gallery. An artist’s reception will be hosted from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21.
Schmidlapp has taught drawing and painting at WSU for over 20 years. He is a former WSU Art Department Chair and also formerly served as the director for the Watkins Gallery. His works have been featured in galleries and art centers throughout the US, including being featured this year in the Minnesota State Board’s Offices, the River Gallery, the 3M Headquarters in St. Paul, the Groveland Gallery in Minneapolis, and the Rochester Art Center.
The Paul Watkins Art Gallery is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays.
