Winona State University will kick off the Steinbeck Festival, in honor of the 75th anniversary of John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, with a showing of John Ford’s 1940 film version of the novel at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, in the Science Laboratory Center Auditorium, room 120.

The Steinbeck Festival will include film screenings, lectures and concerts that focus on the historical, cultural and environmental legacy of Steinbeck’s 1939 novel. The Steinbeck Festival is part of the University’s Sustainable Futures Theme and is a collaboration between the English, history, geoscience, music departments and the Midwest Music Festival.
