Winona State University will host speaker Eddie Moore Jr. for “A Courageous Conversation about Race, Power and Oppression” at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in SLC classroom 120 in Stark Hall.
This session will discuss the dynamics of prejudice and oppression, and evaluate personal biases, behaviors and belief systems to help prepare participants to address issues of race, power and oppression.
Moore graduated from Cornell College with a BA in political science, received his MA in education administration from Loras College and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in education leadership: social foundations.
In 1996, he established America & MOORE, LLC and is also founder and program director for the white privilege conference . Moore has spoken at workshops, keynotes and trainings at different colleges, universities, K-12 schools, conferences, businesses and government organizations throughout the United States and world. His presentations focus on diversity, youth, education, community, cultural competency, leadership, white privilege and oppression.
