Winona State University announces the appointment of Kendra Weber as Director of Student and Community Engagement.
In this role, Weber will provide a connection between the WSU and Winona communities, identifying and coordinating service learning and volunteer opportunities for students, staff and faculty, and responding to incidents and opportunities. She will help students make informed decisions regarding off-campus housing rights and responsibilities and work with campus organizations to promote and improve engagement on the WSU campus.
“We are very pleased to welcome Kendra to the WSU community,” said Karen Johnson, Interim Associate Vice President for Student Life and Development. “She brings with her a very positive attitude and valuable experience in higher education. Her familiarity with the Winona and Rochester areas and with many areas of student life are great strengths for this position.”
Weber most recently served as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at University of Minnesota Rochester. Her background in student life includes experience in on and off-campus housing, advising, retention and organizational development. She also has experience working with community members to develop creative approaches which benefit all involved, and has served the community as a board member with the Rochester Area Family YMCA and as chair of Education & Workforce Development Day for Leadership Greater Rochester.
Weber has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications-Public Relations from St. Cloud State University and a master’s degree in Counseling & Student Personnel from Oklahoma State University.
