Tree ArtworkWinona State University students in an independent study course are organizing a recycled tree-building contest as part of Climate Summit: Trees Matter, taking place on campus April 10-12.

The contest is open to students, clubs and community members. Participants must register by Friday, April 4, by submitting their information to Andrew Johnson (mailto:ajjohnson09@winona.edu). Tree submissions must be turned in by 1:39 p.m. Friday, April 11, to the Science Laboratory Center Atrium.

The rules for the contest are to build a three to six foot tree out of recycled items. Voting will be based on the most creative use of recycled materials, and will take place during the Summit. Winners will receive either a $100 or $50 gift certificate to the Winona State Bookstore.
