JohnsonWinona State University professors John Paulson and Rich MacDonald will play in a jazz quintet from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Ed’s No-Name Bar, Third and Franklin streets, Winona, Minn.

The group includes Paulson on sax and flute, Larry Price on piano, Eric Graham on bass, Scott Gerry on guitar and MacDonald on drums. As composers, Paulson and Price have collaborated on many projects over the last 25 years, including two jazz CDs: “Mobley Street Blues” (2005) and “Tower Blues” (2002).

The performance will highlight their best compositions in an evening of all original jazz.  Their music reflects the diverse influences of many popular styles including swing, blues, ballads, Latin, funk and hip-hop.
