WSU-Dr. Jamie WashingtonWinona State University will host “Who Moved My Cheese: Managing Organization Change” with Rev. Dr. Jamie Washington at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Stark Auditorium.

Washington will also present a student workshop, “Leadership and Diversity in the 21st Century,” at 3:30 p.m. in Dining Rooms E, F and G, Kryzsko Commons.

The sessions demonstrate that change is inevitable and aim to educate participants on how best to work with one’s self and others to manage change in an effective way.

These presentations are free and open to the public.

Washington serves as the president and founder of the Washington Consulting Group, a multicultural organization developmental firm based in Baltimore, Md. He is also a senior consultant with The Equity Consulting Group of California and Elsie Y. Cross and Associates in Philadelphia.

Washington has worked as an educator and administrator in higher education for more than 20 years, most recently serving as the assistant vice president for student affairs at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). He has served as an instructor in sociology, American studies and education, and as an assistant professor of women’s studies.

Washington has held many leadership positions that include the American College Personnel Association, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Minnesota College Personnel Association, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, The Campaign to End Homophobia, and the National Black Lesbian and Gay Leadership Forum. He also has more than 30 years experience in music ministry and is an ordained minister, currently serving as an Associate Minister at Unity Fellowship Church of Baltimore.
