The 23rd Annual Winona State University Engineering Scholarship Golf Outing event will be Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Cedar Valley Golf Course, 25019 County Road 9 in Winona.
The event is organized by the Industry for the Advancement of Winona State Composite Materials Engineering Program to raise scholarship funds for students in the Miller Brothers’ School of Engineering. The event features an 18-hole scramble, plus social gathering and dinner.
A short technical conference will be held prior to the golf outing starting at 9:30 am, with a networking mixer and refreshments. The conference will feature three presentations: Dr. Wenbin Yu, professor of aeronautics and astronautics at Purdue University, with “Artificial intelligence and machine learning-powered composite materials engineering;” Mr. Erik Foltz from the Madison Group with “The hidden cost of broken fibers — what every molder, designer, and engineer should know;” and Dr. Eric Kerr-Anderson, professor of composite materials engineering at Winona State, with “Expanding the ACE Program on composites manufacturing at Winona State University.”
The conference will be hosted 10 am to Noon, with lunch served immediately following. Shotgun starts at 1 pm, followed by social hour at 5 pm and dinner at 6 pm.
