The Winona State University College of Business is proud to announce the launch of a new online degree completion program in Accounting.

Coursework in the accounting degree completion program is delivered entirely online, making the program ideal for anyone who wants to complete their education and balance their personal and professional lives, including working adults, parents, and distance learners who have already completed lower division business prerequisites and all general education requirements. With mainly asynchronous online classes, students can complete assignments anytime, anywhere.

“If you have completed an Accounting or Business Transfer Pathway A.S. degree through one of our Minnesota State community college partners, you are ready to enroll,” said Brad Hardin, Assistant Professor of Accounting.

The Fall 2024 cohort for the accounting degree completion program filled quickly, said Hardin, and registration is now open for Spring 2025 and beyond.

Upon completing the accounting degree completion program, students are eligible to continue their education through Winona State’s online, fully asynchronous Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) program.

This graduate program is meant for professionals who intend to earn competitive certifications, such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or Certified Management Accountant (CMA). According to Hardin, accountants with an MPA degree and CPA or CMA certification have, on average, more advanced career options and higher annual earnings.
