The Winona State University American Democracy Project will present a spotlight panel on Minnesota’s North Star Promise at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in Kryzsko Commons Solarium.
Featured panelists include Rep. Gene Pelowski, Committee Chair of Higher Education Finance and Policy; Sen. Aric Putnam, Vice-Chair of Higher Education Committee; and Jenna Chernega, President of the Inter Faculty Organization.
The panel of experts will discuss how the North Star Promise will benefit students in the community and across the state.
This event is sponsored by the Winona State University American Democracy Project and is free and open to the public. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

About the North Star Promise:
The new North Star Promise Scholarship program will establish a tuition and fee-free pathway to higher education for all eligible Minnesota students attending Winona State University, another Minnesota public higher education institution, or Tribal College.
Starting in Fall 2024, Minnesotan students from households with a family Adjusted Gross Income below $80,000 will qualify for this scholarship. The scholarship will cover the balance of tuition and fees remaining after other scholarships, grants, stipends and tuition waivers have been applied.
