The Winona State University Department of Music will present a senior recital featuring student Jillian Harmening at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center.
Harmening, a soprano, will present the recital in fulfillment of her Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance. The program will feature a wide variety of musical genres, with pieces ranging from a Baroque aria by Handel to a song cycle by Minnesota composer Libby Larsen. Also included in the programs is a set of Spanish songs by composer Joaquin Rodrigo and songs by composers like Frank Liszt, Claude Debussy and Richard Strauss. WSU student Hannah Nitecki will perform on a flute-voice-piano trio. Music professor Eric Brisson will accompany Harmening on piano throughout the recital.
The recital is free and open to the public.
