In light of the national tragedy unfolding in Florida, we want to remind the campus community that there will be Response Training to an Active Shooter in Minne 103 this weekend. ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) Training provides preparation and a plan for individuals and organizations on how to more proactively handle the threat of an aggressive intruder or active shooter event. (Please note: There will be occasional small caliber blank gunshots during the training. The intent is not to scare people, but to educate on what a gunshot may sound like in a building environment.)

Online registration is required, and there are still a few spots available for the Friday and Saturday sessions. Other forms of safety training will be available in the future. For more information, contact Chris Cichosz, Director of Security: ccichosz@winona.edu, 507.457.5555.

In addition, a reminder that WSU Counseling and Wellness Services, located in Room 222 of the Integrated Wellness Complex, are available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Walk-in services, as well as appointments, are available as needed. For more information, call 507-457-5330.

Sincerely yours,

Scott R. Olson
