We were thrilled to host members of the Board of the Laird Norton Company and other members of the Laird and Norton families in Winona on May 5th to thank them for the gift of their historic corporate headquarters to Winona State University.

The building – sometimes called the “UBC Building” or the “Lumber Exchange” by longtime Winonans – will henceforth be known as the Laird Norton Center for Art and Design and will house some of WSU’s art and design programs, as well as public galleries. This is a beautiful example of how the past can give a gift to the present, and how the present can give a gift to the future.

Thank you, Jeff Vincent and everyone at the Laird Norton Company!
