As challenging as 2020 has been, we feel so blessed to be a part of the Winona State University community. We’ve been inspired by how our students and employees rose to meet and overcome every adversity.

Even now when the days are their shortest, the light of Winona State shines brightly, and leads us powerfully forward.

The brightest lights are our students, and that’s why every year a student designs the WSU holiday card, sharing their talent and perspective on the WSU experience.

Everyone at Winona State University wishes the blessing and joy of the Season and a happy and healthy 2021!

Sincerely yours,
President Scott and Kelley Olson

About the Designer

This year’s card was created by WSU student Hannah Harlow ‘21, whose concept reflects the university thriving in spite of adversity. Her illustrations highlight the fun and sense of community that exist at WSU – even during the pandemic.

Hannah is a senior in the I-Design program with a concentration in conceptual illustration.

She has worked on other projects at WSU, such as the website and branding for the university’s design program, promotional material for Christian Vizl’s artist talk on campus, and website for Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Winona.

When designing this year’s card, I asked myself what is there to celebrate about 2020 at WSU?

I drew from my own experiences and ways I’ve found joy this semester.

I wanted to create something fun and uplifting – to show that even in the face of adversity, WSU’s community is as strong as ever.
