I’m writing to let you know that we are in the process of assessing the recent federal travel ban and its impact on Winona State University.
At this time, we do not believe that any WSU students or employees are immediately affected by the ban, but many legal questions remain about the extent of the ban. We recommend that members of the university community do not plan travel to the seven affected countries within the next 90 days, during which time we hope some of the legal questions will be addressed. We are consulting with the Minnesota State General Counsel to monitor developments, and we will update the campus as we learn more.
WSU will continue to welcome the tired, the poor, and the huddled masses yearning to breathe free. We will continue to build a community that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
