More than 450 students will participate in the Winona State University Fall 2016 Commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 9, in McCown Gymnasium in Memorial Hall on the Winona campus.
The morning ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. and include the College of Business, the College of Education, and the College of Science and Engineering. The afternoon ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. and include the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Doors open one hour prior to each ceremony. A reception will be held following each ceremony in Talbot Gymnasium, Memorial Hall.

Alternate viewing locations will be available on the Winona campus in the Integrated Wellness Complex, room 143, and the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall.
The comments of a graduating student are featured as part of each Winona State Commencement ceremony. The morning ceremony’s student speaker is Keagan Anderson from Mount Prospect, Ill. Anderson will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in ACS Chemistry. The afternoon ceremony’s student speaker will be Joshua Hanson from Black River Falls, Wis. Hanson will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in secondary social science history teaching.
WSU students Adam Calcagno, a Theatre Arts major form Hammond, Wis., and Stephanie Trypuc, a Mass Communication and Theatre Arts major from Neenah, Wis., will introduce the degree candidates.
The commencement ceremonies are broadcast live on HBC TV 25 in Winona and in markets served by Hiawatha Broadband Communications. HBC TV 25 will also rebroadcast the ceremonies Saturday, May 7, and Sunday, May 8, with the morning ceremony airing at 8 p.m. and the afternoon ceremony at 10:30 p.m.
