Alumna Adja Gildersleve

Winona State University alumna Adja Gildersleve will host National Coming Out Day with multiple events on Tuesday, Oct. 11 in Kryzsko Commons.

Gildersleve will host “Mentoring LGBTQ and LGBTQ Students of Color” from 1 to 2 p.m., in the Oak Rooms of Kryzsko Commons. Later on Tuesday, Gildersleve will host “Not this Era! Registering Erasure In Our Movements,” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in East Hall of Kryzsko Commons.

Gildersleve explores the historical and present links between Black movements and the momentum they lend to LGBTQ initiatives. Gildersleve will highlight the crucial role of Black queer and trans youth and femmes in the events of Minnesota becoming a spotlight of the global movement Black Lives Matter.
