matt-pic1Winona State University’s Common Book Project will host Matt Richtel, author of “A Deadly Wandering” for an interview, panel discussion, keynote and book signing on Sept. 26.

The visit begins with, Dr. Cindy Killion interviewing Richtel from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday. Sept. 26, in the Haake Hall Conference Room.

The event is followed by a panel discussion with Richtel to discuss distracted driving from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday. Sept. 26, in Stark Hall room 103.

Later, Richtel will deliver a keynote address at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept 26, in the Harriet Johnson Auditorium in Somsen Hall.

“A Deadly Wandering,” available at the WSU Bookstore, focuses on the outcome of a fatal car accident, in which 19-year- old Reggie Shaw killed two scientists due to texting and driving. Richtel presents Reggie’s story, the investigation of the crash, and the prosecution alongside, research on attention and distraction.

These events are free and open to the public.
