Winona State University has appointed Rita Rahoi-Gilchrest to the position of Interim Associate Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, effective August 15.
Prior to this appointment, Rahoi-Gilchrest served as assistant professor in Communication Studies (2000-2005), associate professor (2005-2009), and professor (2009-present) at WSU. She also served as Chair of Communication Studies (2008-2011) and has served as the Director of the WSU General Education Program since 2012.
Rahoi-Gilchrest earned her Ph.D. from Ohio University, her M.A. from Ohio University, and her B.A. from UW Eau Claire.
“Dr. Rahoi-Gilchrest has served many roles as a faculty member at Winona State, and she is exceptionally well qualified to step into this administrative position,” said Peter Miene, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
The WSU College of Liberal Arts is comprised of 13 departments: Art & Design, Communication Studies, English, Global Studies and World Languages, History and Legal Studies, Mass Communication, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology and Criminal Justice, Theatre and Dance and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
