Two students from Winona State University’s College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Leah Habicht and Elizabeth McClean, are part of a new partnership between Twins Cities Medical Society (TCMS) and WSU.
Habicht and McClean are completing their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project focusing on Advance Care Planning (ACP) among multicultural Minnesota communities. The project is embedded in a statewide initiative called Honoring Choices. The project seeks to provide information on healthcare options and hopes to start conversations on seeking advance care in Hispanic/Latino communities by using culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate interventions.
The partnership will benefit diverse Minnesota communities, and offers students at both WSU and TCMS the opportunity to connect to a project that deeply matters to Minnesota.
