April Fools! Sorry to disappoint, but former “The Bachelor” winner will not be WSU’s commencement speaker this year. However, student commencement speakers will share their Warrior wisdom and inspire the Class of 2015. Here are a few words from our resident prankster, President Scott Olson.
Former cast member of “The Bachelor” Courtney Robertson will be featured as WSU’s Spring 2015 Commencement Speaker.
Since her 2012 debut on ABC’s “The Bachelor,” Robertson has been a successful model and author, publishing her first book, I Didn’t Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain last year. She also continues to participate in “Bachelor” and “Bachelorette” events.
In her speech, Robertson will discuss her drive for success, her commitment to her goals, and her strength in the face of opposition. She hopes to inspire the Class of 2015 to forge forward on their own paths with the same unapologetic authenticity that built Robertson’s success.

I recall the 2013 commencement speaker, Richard Hatch, winner of the first season of CBS’s Survivor. His speech about developing persistence and patience (as a result of his incarceration for tax evasion) was tremendously moving.
