Winona State University will host “The Role of Collective Bargaining in Public Education” from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at the Acoustic Café.
The event is part of the Teach21 Teach in Series and will feature former Winona Area Public Schools (WAPS) superintendent Scott Hannon, Jay Kohner from the WAPS School Board, and Jeff Hyma from Education Minnesota. The Teach-in will discuss collective bargaining in public schools and the role of unions and whether they preserve teachers’ academic freedom or are a costly necessity in the profession.
Teach21 is the College of Education program that is committed to preparing education professionals who lead and excel at meeting the changing learning needs and styles of 21st century learners.
