IWC Health & Wellness Event

Winona State University Health and Wellness Services will offer information on gender based violence and flexibility testing during the week of Feb. 23.

Kari Clifton and Rachel Slater of The Emily Program will host the Healthy Monday event “Health In A Weight Focused World” at 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in the Student Activity Center, Kryzsko Commons. This seminar will focus on how to promote positive body image and self-esteem, while promoting optimal health and well-being through joyful activity, nutrition, and self-care.

The Health and Wellness Student Advocates will host an interactive resource table on “Body Image” from 11 a.m. to noon Feb. 10 in the entrance to the IWC.   The event will offer information about healthy body image.

The Health and Wellness Student Advocates will host “Brain Teasers” in IWC 138 at 3 p.m. Brain teasers are simple, inexpensive ways of giving your brain a regular workout. It is vital that people indulge themselves in mental activity that enhances their memory, focus and attention.

Health promotion programming aims to increase awareness, knowledge and skills to sustain a healthy lifestyle. These programs are designed to challenge and provide personal growth and development for all Winona State students. Event sponsors include Health & Wellness Services, The RE Initiative, and on Facebook, Student Health & Wellness Advocates, HERS Practicum, Counseling & Wellness Services, Semcac Clinic, Public Health Club, SHAG, FAN Club, Outdoor Recreation Education Center and Fitness & Wellness Services.
