The Winona State University Women’s Rugby team, the Black Katts, will compete during the National Final Four on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-7, in Palm Coast, Fla.

The Black Katts beat the University to Arkansas, 94-0, and Utah Valley University, 20-7, in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds of the National Championship Nov. 15-16.

This is the fourth consecutive year the team has advanced to the National Final Four. The team will face Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine) Dec. 6.  Notre Dame College (South Euclid, Ohio) and  Kutztown University (Pennsylvania) face off in the other match of the Final Four. The Black Katts faced both teams in the Final Four last year, defeating Kutztown in the semifinal and Notre Dame in the final to win the National DII Championship.

The team remains undefeated this season with a record of 10 wins, zero losses. The Black Katts have been finalists in the national competition the past three years and were declared National DII Champions in December 2013.
