The Winona State University Geoscience Department celebrated National Fossil Day Oct. 15 in the Science Laboratory Center (SLC) Atrium.
Visitors learned about the ongoing research in WSU’s fossil laboratory, browsed WSU’s fossil collection and even had the opportunity to touch real dinosaur bones.
The event was free and open to the public.
National Fossil Day was established by the National Park Service in 2010 to promote the scientific and educational value of fossils. This event is celebrated nationwide by a variety of museums, universities, institutions, and other groups by joining together to celebrate fossils
