The New Kryzsko Commons

New Student Study Area

Winona State University’s Kryzsko Commons Student Union underwent major construction and renovation, starting in September 2013 and concluding in summer 2014.

The project added an additional 7,300 square feet to the building, as well as renovations and upgrades provided to 23,000 square feet of existing space within the building. Renovated areas include a new south entrance, eight new meeting/study rooms, renovated lighting, a full renovation to the WSU Bookstore, and the renovation of the newly located KEAP (Knowledge, Empowerment, Advocacy and Pluralism) Diversity Center. The renovations were designed to reduce operating costs by making the building more efficient.

The Open House is set to take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, throughout the entire renovated area, with a majority of activities taking place in the Baldwin Lounge. The showcase will coincide with WSU’s Family Weekend and Benefactor Recognition Weekend. The event will include giveaways, food, entertainment by WSU Jazz Combos, self-guided tours and tours of the new KEAP Center.

Attendees who visit the WSU Bookstore and say “Go Warriors!” at the checkout will receive a 15 percent discount off clothing and gift purchases.

The event is free and open to all WSU students and employees.
