Winona State University will host the Collaborative Queer Film series, covering topics such as the exploration of sexual transformations, social indifference and conflicting identities, at the Winona Arts Center (228 East Fifth St., Winona, MN).
The documentaries are a collaboration between WSU’s Women’s and Gender Studies program and the 7 Rivers LGBT Collective. The goal is to bring current films that address important GLBT issues to our community to educate, inspire and spark discussion. The program schedule is as follows:
- 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 – Gun Hill Road, followed by a discussion led by student club FORGE (Fighting for Our Rights and Gender Equality)
- 6 p.m. Thursday, March 6 – Pariah, followed by a discussion led by WSU Inter-Faculty Organization GLBTA Committee
- 6 p.m. Thursday, March 20 – United in Anger: A History of Act Up, followed by a discussion led by the LGBT Resource Center for the Seven Rivers Region, Inc.
- 6 p.m. Thursday, April 3 – Small Town Gay Bar, followed by a discussion led by student club Full Spectrum: Winona State University’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance
