The Winona State University Department of Music Concert Choir will present Dessert Theatre at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, in the Harriet Johnson Auditorium in Somsen Hall, with doors opening at 6:15 p.m.
Dessert Theatre is a revue-style musical that spotlights rock ‘n’ roll, singing, dancing and music. The show will celebrate the songwriting duo of Leiber and Stoller and will feature 30 of the duo’s most-loved songs.
The production, directed by Harry Mechell and Lauren Mechell, showcases the WSU Concert Choir and incorporates solo, pairs and group numbers. The event combines the choir, lighting and professional pit orchestra with imagination and energy.
The dessert menu, developed by Lauren Mechell and prepared by WSU Executive Chef Randy Shadle, will be available during intermission.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $12 for students, and are available at at WSUArtsTickets.com or the WSU Box Office. Tickets purchased online by February 14 include dessert. Tickets purchased at the door do not include dessert.
