Winona State University invites the community to celebrate International Education Week Nov. 12-15.
WSU will host a variety of campus events open to the public to highlight the impact and importance of international education.
A community mural will be created Nov. 12 in East Hall, Kryzsko Commons, followed by a showing of the documentary “Crossing Borders” from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Harriet Johnson Auditorium, Somsen Hall. “Crossing Borders” by Arnd Wachter follows four Moroccan and four American university students as they travel together through Morocco.
Global Studies and World Languages Professor Michael Bowler will present on “Global Citizenship” at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 in Stark 103. In addition, an International Food and Language Fair will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Student Activity Center, Kryzsko Commons.
The 2013 International Learning Day Nov. 14 will bring third grade classes from from around Winona for games, food, displays and lessons from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Science Laboratory Center room 100.
Nov. 15 will include an Open House/Visiting Student Country Presentation on Tunisia from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Purple Rooms, Kryzsko Commons, followed by Taste of the Middle East at noon in the Student Activity Center, Kryzsko Commons. The annual Ten Thousand Villages Fair Trade Sale will also take place throughout the day in the Student Activity Center.
WSU’s celebration of International Education Week is sponsored by the offices of International Services and Cultural Outreach.
