Campbell and Tolvaisas recently visited Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi during a research trip to plan the upcoming travel-study course “Tracking the Civil Rights Movement, 1955 to 2014.” The presentation will examine how the civil rights movement in these states has exemplified civic action, particularly in the realms of education, grassroots organizing, volunteer work and leadership.

Campbell, Tolvaisas and Hines hold advanced degrees from the University of Minnesota, Rutgers University and Clemson University, respectively.
