The Winona State University Athenaeum Series will host “Navajo Oral History Project” at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.16, on the second floor of the Darrell W. Krueger Library.
Mass Communication Associate Professor Tom Grier will discuss the fifth year of the Navajo Oral History project, a collaboration between Winona State University and Diné College of the Navajo Nation. During the trip WSU and DC students worked in teams to do a service project for a Navajo elder, then research, interview, photograph, write and edit documentaries about the elder. This presentation will highlight the goals and process of the trip along with a viewing of student videos.
All WSU Athenaeum Series events are free and open to the public.
The Athenaeum hosts events that explore and enhance the intellectual life of the University and the region through lectures, readings, performances, discussions and other events.
