Winona State University announces the appointment of Kemale Pinar to the position of Director of International Services at Winona State University.
In the 2013 academic year, WSU welcomed more than 300 international students from 40 countries across the globe. As Director of International Services Pinar will be responsible for strategic planning for international recruitment, admission and enrollment management; enhancing international student services; and contributing to campus internationalization.
Pinar has more than 30 years of experience in the field of international education. For more than a decade, she served as lead recruitment officer at three major universities: Saint Mary’s University, the University of Oregon in Eugene, and the University of New Brunswick in Canada. She has traveled extensively in Asia, South America and the Middle East, and has served as the director of the Libyan North American Scholarship program, as a leader for the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers and as the chair of the International Enrollment Management Knowledge Community, among other volunteer positions.
