Women Composers

The Winona State University Department of Music will present a Women’s History Month recital at noon Wednesday, March 6, in the Recital Hall of the Performing Arts Center.

The concert will include songs and instrumental pieces by women composers from the 17th through 20th centuries, including art songs by Rebecca Clarke, Lori Laitman, Maria Malibran, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Carmen Santiago de Meras and Pauline Viardot, as well as flute music by Rhonda Larson and Kathleen Vadala.

The recital is free and open to the public.

The concert is part of the semester-long celebration of the 20th anniversary of WSU’s Women’s and Gender Studies program.
