Winona State University announces Scott Ellinghuysen has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration.
Ellinghuysen has served the WSU community since 1989, first as a Financial Analyst, then as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from 2000 to present. He has twice served as interim Vice President of Finance and Administration, from 2006-2008 and from 2012 to present.
“I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Scott over the past seven months, and I’ve seen what he can do up close,” said WSU President Scott Olson. “What I’ve heard from the campus and greater community mirrors what I’ve seen first-hand, that he’s the ideal choice for the position. I have complete confidence in his ability to lead the department.”
Ellinghuysen is a 1988 WSU alumnus, with bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. He obtained his MBA from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 1997.
Under Ellinghuysen’s leadership, WSU has been recognized for Excellence in Financial Management by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system for 14 years (1997-2012). As CFO, Ellinghuysen has overseen the financial growth of the university from $65 million annually in 2000 to more than $125 million presently. He has assisted in securing funding for more than $100 million worth of university construction projects over a 15-year period.
Ellinghuysen is a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, serves as a Board member of the Great River Shakespeare Festival, and sits on the Winona Area Public Schools Foundation Investment Advisory Committee.
He lives in Winona with his wife Kelly and son Logan.
