The Winona State University Department of Music Symphonic Wind Ensemble will present its annual mid-winter concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, in the Main Stage of the Performing Arts Center.
Directed by Professor Donald Lovejoy, the Symphonic Wind Ensemble is comprised of approximately 100 WSU students, representing nearly every academic discipline on campus.
The repertoire for the concert includes: “Ides of March” by Derek Bermel, variations on “Jerusalem the Golden” by Charles Ives, “Amiguiño” by Javier Pérez Garrido, “Songs of Abelard” by Norman Dello Joio, “In Perfect Silence” by Richard L. Saucedo, “Blues for a Killed Kat” by Jack End and “The Awakening of the Ents” by H. Owen Reed.
The concert is free and open to the public.
