Winona State University will host a screening of the film “It Was Rape” as part of the Women’s and Gender Studies 20th anniversary series at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in Gildemeister 155.
“It Was Rape” focuses on eight women who tell diverse personal stories of sexual assault, from a Midwestern teenager trying alcohol for the first time to a Native American woman gradually coming to terms with her abusive childhood. The film is an opportunity to empathize with people and to puncture the silence and denial that allow sexual assault to thrive.
This event is free and open to the public.
