Winona State University will host Trans* Teach In, a seminar on making the classroom and work space more inclusive for transgender or gender nonconforming students or employees as part of the Women’s and Gender Studies 20th anniversary. The seminar is offered twice on Tuesday, Jan. 29, in Kryzsko Commons: from 10 a.m. – Noon in Purple Rooms 244 and 245 and from 4-6 p.m. in Oak Rooms E and F.
The seminar is intended for educators, staff and students who are interested in learning more about trans inclusivity. Attendees will understand life and classroom experiences of trans students and faculty, understand the basic terminology and cisgender privilege, explore their own gender identities/gender expression, understand language use and the impact it can have in the classroom, and have an opportunity to ask questions of trans students and faculty.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
