Winona State University will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by hosting its annual Day of Service Monday, Jan. 19. This event offers students the opportunity to engage in service, reflection, and community connection in celebration of Dr. King’s life and work.
Students will have access to close to 140 service opportunities both on campus and with local community partners. Projects vary in length, location, and focus, making it easy for participants to find an option that fits their interests and availability. Opportunities include cleaning and organization at the Winona Area Humane Society, engagement and support for area senior citizens, providing meals to local fire and police stations, and support for local arts and non-profit organizations.
