Close to 450 students will participate in the Winona State University Fall 2012 Commencement ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in McCown Gymnasium on the Winona campus.

The ceremony includes graduates from the College of Business, the College of Education, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the College of Science and Engineering.
The guest speaker for Fall 2012 Commencement is City of Winona Mayor Jerry Miller. Miller was elected mayor in 1996 and has since been re-elected four times. Miller has played an important role in making the Winona community what it is today. He, along with his wife Susan, have been passionate about creating a city all citizens can be proud of through encouraging community-wide collaboration between young and old. Miller will retire at the end of 2012.
The featured student speaker for the ceremony is Kari Dolan from Middleton, Wis. Dolan is graduating from the nursing program.
Theatre Arts students Lydia Graddy-VanDenBerg of Byron, Minn., and Megan Smith of Baldwin, Wis. will introduce the degree candidates.
