basketballWinona State University will host a No-Waste Basketball Game Friday, Jan. 30, in McCown Gym as the Winona Warriors take on Bemidji State. The women’s game begins at 6 p.m., and the men’s game begins at 8 p.m.

This is WSU’s first “no-waste” basketball event, intended to raise awareness about the importance and impact of reducing waste. All items available for purchase at the game can either be eaten, reused, recycled or composted.

This event is part of the 2014-2015 Sustainable Futures university theme and will kick off WSU’s annual participation in Recyclemania, an eight-week national competition among hundreds of universities.

This event is open to the public.
